Mister Vlado Rimac, a health engineer from the Croatian Institute for Public Health, gave a lecture to the students in our project about hidden sugars in foods most teens (and adults) eat every day and alternative choices we can make.
Our students found out that food labeled and marketed as “healthy” can be a trick, they measured how much sugar is in a small bottle of a soft drink, learned how to read the nutrition facts label and which ingredients can replace plain sugar in our favourite holiday recipes.

At the end of the lecture, we had a bite of a healthy raspberry and pomegranate cake made by our students Marija Luisa and Ella! Well done, girls!
Now that we have the know-hows, we can start – baking! 🙂
